Wet drywall, insulation, flooring or cabinets are removed so the structure can be checked.
- Step 3
Rebuild
Framing, drywall, ceilings, flooring, doors and cabinets are replaced and finished to match the rest of the home.
- Step 4
Finish and paint
Trim and paint are completed so the repaired area blends in with the surrounding rooms.
Helpful Details
Ceiling damage after a leak
Brown rings, sagging or bubbling paint on a ceiling are signs water has soaked the drywall. Small areas can be patched. Larger or sagging sections should be replaced.
Doors and trim that swell
Interior doors and trim made from composite materials often swell and warp after water exposure. Replacing them is usually faster and cleaner than trying to repair them.
Working with insurance claims
If your repair is part of an insurance claim, we can provide a clear written scope of the reconstruction work for your adjuster.
Water Damage Reconstruction FAQs
Can water damaged drywall be saved?
Drywall that was briefly wet and dried quickly can sometimes stay. Drywall that sagged, crumbled or stayed wet for long periods should be replaced to avoid mold and weak walls.
Do you fix ceilings damaged by a leak?
Yes. We repair small stained areas and replace larger damaged ceiling sections, then texture and paint to match.
Can you replace a door damaged by water?
Yes. Swollen or warped interior doors and door frames are replaced and finished to match the rest of the home.
Do you handle the drying process?
Our work focuses on reconstruction after the area has been properly dried. If drying is still needed, it should be completed first so moisture is not sealed inside walls.
